ENVIRONMENTAL ENERGY PLANNING DOCUMENT OF THE PORT SYSTEM OF THE SOUTHERN TYRRHENIAN AND IONIC SEAS

ENVIPARK is part of a Temporary Grouping of Professionals together with ACQUATECNO S.r.l and AMBIENTE S.p.A who have been entrusted with the task of drafting the Port System Energy and Environmental Planning Document (DEASP) and the Port System Strategic Planning Document (DPSS) of the Port System Authority of the Southern Tyrrhenian and Ionian Seas.

These planning tools will map out the future development of the ports that compose the Port Authority of the Southern Tyrrhenian and Ionian Seas (such as Gioia Tauro, Crotone, Corigliano Calabro, Vibo Valentia and Taureana di Palmi located in the Region of Calabria) from an integrated system perspective, with the aim of responding to growth opportunities in a coordinated way with the territory and to ensure, in the port sphere, sustainable, economic, social, and environmental development.

 OUR ROLE

 ENVIPARK will be responsible for drafting the Port System Environmental Energy Planning Document, which will define the current situation in terms of greenhouse gases emission associated with the activities of the Port Authority and port operators and for identifying interventions and measures needed to mitigate their impact. Specifically, the main contents of the document, which are functional for the Port System’s energy planning, aim to:

  • take a representation of the existing situation, in terms of CO2 emissions, through the assessment of the “Carbon Footprint” of the Port System, in accordance with UNI 14064;
  • identify energy-environmental objectives by comparing this situation with the needs of the area and with best practices;
  • identify the interventions and measures to be implemented to achieve the objectives;
  • carry out the prior technical-economic feasibility assessment, through cost-benefit analysis;
  • plan interventions and measures within a set time frame useful for achieving the set objectives;
  • monitor the results achieved.
