Hysylab

HysyLab is the laboratory dedicated to hydrogen technologies which sees the collaboration of Envipark, Politecnico di Torino and IIT.

HysyLab has been operating since 2002 to support the business and research system on the issues of production, storage and use of hydrogen as an energy vector and for the various applications of fuel cell systems in different fields as the mobility.

In recent years the laboratory, thanks to a closer collaboration with the Polytechnic of Turin and the Italian Institute of Technology (IIT), has seen a significant expansion of its spaces and an update of the available technologies.

The laboratory in numbers:

  • Area of about 500 square metres equipped with security systems, ad hoc sensors and forced ventilation. The spaces, from the point of view of plant/safety/gas lines, are isolated from the outside areas.
  • An externa area for storing flammables, gas-mixtures and inerts from which the distribution gas lines branch off to the laboratory;
  • Area provided with 11 testing stations equipped with the following gases: H2, CH4, CO2, CO, O2, N2 and compressed air at a pressure of 30 bar;
  • Currently, the stations include activities
  • With H2 as a carrier dedicated to testing PEM/SOFC single cells, Fuel cell stacks, Electrolysers, Fuel cell power systems;
  • With H2 as a chemical reagent in the conversion and valorisation of CO2 (CO2 CIRCLE LAB)

Our specialized staff is able to analyse customer requirements, defines specific tests and equips the stations with ad hoc facilities.
