Water available for human consumption is very limited, it is not inexhaustible, but to be considered as a rare good. The problems related to water management are similar in France and Italy, where companies face difficulties of performance, cost management and correct use of the resource. Considering the actual impacts of climate change, the issue of water management has become extremely important for the ALCOTRA territory, in social, societal and economic terms.

The GAG – Goccia A Goccia project is co-financed by the Interreg VI-A France-Italy Cross-border Territorial Cooperation Programme – ALCOTRA 2021-2027 and has as general objective to identify the administrative and technological obstacles that currently prevent agrifood companies from reducing their water consumption in their activities.

The project aims to improve the efficiency of production systems by using technological innovation and digital solutions to promote sustainable use of water resources, identifying and supporting large-scale water-consuming enterprises, without compromising economic sustainability of production activities.

The project involves the Chambre des Métiérs et de l’Artisanat de Région PACA, as lead partner, Aix Marseille Universitè and the Chambre de Commerce et d’Industrie de Nice Côte d’Azur, for France, and Camera di Commercio, Industria, Artigianato e Agricoltura di Cuneo, Camera di Commercio, Industria, Artigianato e Agricoltura Riviere di Liguria, il Politecnico di Torino, Fondazione per la Ricerca, l’Innovazione e lo Sviluppo Tecnologico dell’Agricoltura Piemontese (Agrion), for Italy.
