Prime

Project PRIME has been financed under the ROP Piemonte ERDF 2014-2020, within the framework of the “Piattaforma Tecnologica per la Bioeconomia” grant programme.

PRIME stands for “Processi e pRodotti Innovativi di chiMica vErde” (innovative green chemistry processes and products). The project aims at studying, developing and demonstrating advanced green chemistry processes within biorefineries able to transform renewable raw materials and production waste available in Piemonte into bioproducts and biomaterials. These have functional properties that are equal or that have been improved compared to those existing on the market, with significant outcome in strategic sectors for regional economic development: agriculture (compostable mulching film, biomaterials for agriculture, biostimulants, bioherbicides), textile (yarn), automotive (painted components and fabrics for the interiors), food (packaging), cosmetics and nutraceutics (facial and body care products, lotions for animals, supplements)

The project has an overall duration of 36 months and brings together 26 actors: 5 large companies, 9 research centres and 12 SME, among which: Novamont, Centro Ricerche Fiat, Sinterama, Sedamyl,Environment Park, Istituto Italiano di Tecnologia, Politecnico di Torino,  University of Turin with the Department of Life Sciences and System Biology, Department of Chemistry and the Centre of Competence for the innovation in the agro-environmental field, University of Piemonte Orientale , Università di Scienze Gastronomiche, Fondazione Benvenuti In Italia, University of Trieste with the Department of Chemical and Pharmaceutical sciences, Proplast, De Martini, Grinp, Biosphere, Hysytech, Costantino & C, Roelmi HPC, Farmaceutici Procemsa, Circ, Reynaldi, Gallicchio Stampi e Verplast.

 Our role

Envipark participates in project PRIME providing the expertise and the facilities that have been crucial for achieving the results as laid out in the project proposal. The planned activities will also lead to process innovation, thus closing the circle of the BBs extraction process through the recovery and exploitation of the waste digestate and the production of  high-added value algal metabolites.
